Pakistan reduced imports of scrap

Imports of ferrous scrap into the country in June 2023 amounted to 121,677 tons, a decrease of 3.6% compared to the previous month and also a decrease of 49.6% compared to June 2022. The value of June imports was at $60.58 million, down 11.2% on a monthly basis and also down 60.8% on an annual basis.

Pakistani imports of iron and steel in June this year amounted to 208,668 tons, an increase of 18.2% compared to a month earlier, but a decrease of 50.1% compared to June last year. The value of the above imports was at $164.28 million, up 16.4% on a monthly basis but down 49.2% on an annual basis.
