Outokumpu started the production of metal powder

This development reinforces the company's ambitious innovation strategy in the field of high-quality metal powder production from recycled materials.

Outokumpu supplies the production of metal powder from the company's own recycled stainless steel scrap, and this process is aimed to reach a production capacity of up to 330 tons per year. With this step, the company once again emphasizes its commitment to the circular economy and its sustainable production approach.

It was also stated that a number of research and development collaborations are also on the agenda to ensure the use of metal powder in various industrial applications. In this context, Outokumpu plans to sign innovative projects with companies from different sectors such as medicine, jewelry and engineering.

Within the scope of the German government's REACT funding program, Outokumpu has started a cooperation with Stahl Krebs company operating in the field of steel trade. This partnership also stands out as an important step for the development of nickel-free materials. These new materials, which will be used in the production of medical devices, implants and watches, will offer a wider range of innovation opportunities.
