Outokumpu reports that it will restart its third ferrochromium furnace earlier than planned but continues to optimize its ferrochromium production capacity.
Outokumpu will restart one of its three ferrochromium furnaces on February 15, 2023. The bakery had been temporarily closed from September due to high electricity prices, and its resumption of operation was scheduled to be delayed until at least the end of the first quarter of 2023.
The optimization of the production of ferrochromium based on the price of electricity is continuing for all three furnaces, and the production capacity is 50-60% of normal.
