With a new contract, Outokumpu is expanding its collaboration with Germany-based software company Metalshub for spot demand sourcing. This contract is reported to include direct supplier transactions through the sourcing platform.
Marc-Simon Schaar (Outokumpu procurement manager) says that this expansion will improve operational efficiency and standardize documentation processes in cooperation with suppliers, adding that the company is working with its suppliers to strengthen the sustainability of its supply chain, including its environmental and social aspects.
Outokumpu's decision to improve and digitize its supply chain processes, which has become one of the company's strategic objectives, and to establish a stronger collaboration with suppliers throughout the process, Schaar states.
