Russia's largest steel producer NLMK plans to start a new production line with an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons in the second half of 2022. The production capacity of hot-dip galvanized is expected to be increased to 1.7 million tons per year.
Increasing production of hot-dip galvanized coils can replace imports. The investment of this expansion plan is approximately 164 million US dollars.
NLMK's annual hot dip galvanizing output in 2020 was approximately 834,000 tons. The company said the new production line can produce high-strength thin steel with better corrosion resistance, which can provide higher quality and greener steel to the automobile industry, white goods industry and construction industry.
