Nippon Steel Corporation, Japan's largest steelmaker, reported that due to the leakage of hot iron from the No.1 blast furnace, it is difficult for the company to continue production and could reduce its steel production by about one million tons per year.
In response, Taiwan's largest carbon steel producer, China Steel Corporation (CSC), said it has received relevant information and closely monitors and understands it.
The accident at Nippon Steel's factory in Kyushu was mainly caused by the leakage of hot iron from the No. 1 blast furnace, and some problems occurred during the transport of the iron to the vehicles. Although firefighters came to the rescue and the factory took urgent action, it is known that the furnace was closed.
