New plant breakthrough for processing secondary raw materials from NLMK
Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works has installed a plant for processing secondary raw materials such as crushed concrete, reinforced concrete and brick, which are formed at the plant after repair and reconstruction. The new equipment with a capacity of more than 100 thousand tons per year will fully process the entire volume of such recyclable materials.
At the plant, the iron will be removed using a magnet and then returned to production. In this way, the project combines both environmental and economic impacts.
Nikita Vorobyov, Director of Environment and Climate at NLMK Group, said: "The project will allow us to recycle secondary materials that we have previously delivered for recycling. As a result, in addition to producing products for the construction sector, we will create a full-fledged circular economy in our business by returning secondary raw materials to production."
