The Saudi Ports Authority announced the launch of a new shipping service called “BOS” at Jeddah Islamic Port. Operated by BLUE OCEAN, this new service aims to enhance the port’s international connections and expand its maritime transport network.
The BOS service links Jeddah Islamic Port directly with the ports of Qingdao, Ningbo, and Nansha in China, facilitating regional and global logistics operations. The route offers container transport capacity of 2,300 TEU (twenty-foot standard containers).
Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest transshipment and commercial port along the Red Sea coast. It manages a significant portion of the country’s maritime import and transshipment traffic. Therefore, this development is seen as an important step toward strengthening Saudi Arabia’s logistics infrastructure and accelerating export processes. It is also considered part of ongoing investments aimed at increasing the country’s role in international trade.
