According to the tariff table published by BOTAŞ, the price of natural gas sold to free consumers with an annual consumption of 300,000 cubic meters or less, excluding electricity generation, has increased by 33.1%. On the other hand, there have been no changes to the wholesale prices for natural gas used in electricity generation, or for free consumers with annual natural gas consumption exceeding 300,000 cubic meters for non-electricity purposes.
The new pricing schedule for industrial subscribers is as follows:
- Tier 1: TL 8,549 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas
- Tier 2: TL 11,380 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas Electricity generation tariff: TL 12,000 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas.
Price for distribution companies serving residential consumers
BOTAŞ has announced that the price it will charge distribution companies for residential consumers in August will be TL 5,631 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas.
Pricing criteria
Natural gas pricing schedules are calculated on a monthly basis. BOTAŞ states that wholesale natural gas prices are set at the most reasonable level possible, taking into consideration market conditions, market price stability, decisions of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority related to tariffs, and changes in acquisition and operating costs.
