The annual general assembly meeting of the Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding (MIDHCO), which has the highest industrial bioleach copper production technology in the world, but utilizes the highest technology in the country (Iran) in terms of blast furnace and direct regeneration methods, was held.
During his speech, Ali Asghar Pourmand, the CEO of MIDHCO, emphasized the importance of exporting MIDCO products in Iran.
He mentioned that in 2022, the export volume of MIDHCO products increased by 9% compared to the previous year, highlighting the significance of export for partially repaying their debts. He announced that MIDCO's sales reached 391 trillion 727 billion Rials last year, indicating that the company's net profit was also equal to 302 Rials.
"MIDHCO experienced gas and electricity shortages for three months last year. This company requires 700 megawatts of electricity to operate at full capacity, and energy shortage is a significant problem for it."
Continuing his speech, he stated, "Within 14 years, MIDHCO has implemented 40 projects, and the essence of each project was determined from the beginning. Each project in MIDHCO is defined as a chain, and when all the chains are completed, a project is considered completed." He mentioned that the steel production capacity in MIDHCO is 800,000 tons, but their aim is to increase it to one million tons per year.
"MIDHCO has aimed to increase the quantity of mining operations to 130 million tons this year, bringing up the production development and growth of this year."
Ali Asghar Pourmand also mentioned the collection and treatment of sewage in Kerman and Zarand cities as one of the significant projects that MIDHCO has made significant progress in.
