According to the Mexican Chamber of Mines, Camimex, mining companies operating in Mexico expect their investments for 2023 to reach approximately 5.21 billion dollars, a slight decrease of 1 percent compared to the previous year.
The announcement of these investment figures took place during the presentation of the annual sustainability report. In addition, the mining sector's contribution to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) declined from 2.50 percent in 2021 to 2.46 percent in 2022.
It is worth noting that each percentage point of Mexican GDP corresponds to a value of $15.91 billion.
