The UK rolling mill, part of the Metinvest group, will supply steel for the facility, which will be built in Suffolk, England. Under the agreement, the company will deliver 1,600 tonnes of steel plate for the project.
The project stands out as one of the largest energy investments undertaken in the UK in recent years. Once operational, Sizewell C is expected to provide electricity to around 6 million households at peak construction and create employment for 10,000 people.
Spartan UK Sales Manager Ian Robinson stated that the first shipment of 800 tonnes of steel plate will take place in August, with the remaining quantity to be delivered in the third quarter of 2025. Although construction has not yet begun, the first visual renderings have already been shared with the public.
This project is regarded as the largest public investment in clean energy in the UK in the 21st century.
