LISCO breaks export record in the first quarter of 2025

Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) exported 210,000 tons of hot briquetted iron (HBI) in the first three months of 2025, the highest level in its history. These shipments were destined for both Arab and European countries and were transported by 16 ships from the company's own port. This significantly increased LISCO's export strength and consolidated its leadership in the region.

Behind this success is the significant contribution of strategic partner FGE, which plays an active role in the production process. Thanks to the cooperation with FGE, products were produced in high quantities and in compliance with international quality standards. This has increased LISCO's competitiveness in the world market.

Company officials state that this export success is not a coincidence, but the result of a long-standing strategic vision. LISCO is taking firm steps towards becoming one of the largest iron and steel exporters not only in Libya, but also in the region, with goals such as expanding into new markets, increasing its export volume and contributing more to the national economy.
