Lebanon; Qatar is negotiating for the supply of gas

The Lebanese economy is going through important tests. Due to the energy crisis caused by the shortage of fuel in Lebanon, there are power cuts for hours during the day.

After the gasoline crisis in the country, now the search for natural gas to close the energy gap has begun.

Lebanese Energy Minister Walid Fayyad made a statement after visiting Doha and meeting with his Qatari counterpart, Sad bin Sharida al-Kabi.

GAS WILL REACH LEBANON THROUGH SYRIA

Fayyad said that Jordan's Aqaba region in the Red Sea was chosen for the gasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar, and that the gas would be delivered to Lebanon via Syria.

"GAS FROM QATAR IS IMPORTANT FOR LEBANON"

Referring to the importance of gas to come from Qatar for Lebanon, Fayyad noted that talks with his Jordanian counterpart have begun in order for the Amman administration to approve this issue.

Fayyad said that in addition to the solution for Qatar gas, Egyptian gas is also expected to be brought through Syria, and this is among the solutions to the energy problem in Lebanon.
