According to a statement released by the company, KARDEMİR Türkiye’s first integrated iron and steel plant and the country’s only national brand producing railway rails and railway wheels will participate as a platinum sponsor at the Türkiye Rail Systems Business Forum 2026.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of KARDEMİR, Muhammed Ali Oflaz, will attend the forum as a speaker at the opening session. Oflaz is expected to share his assessments regarding Türkiye’s industrialization process in the field of rail systems.
Bringing together public institutions, industry representatives, and academic stakeholders forming Türkiye’s rail systems sector, the forum serves as an important platform for strengthening domestic and national production infrastructure, enhancing cooperation, and increasing sectoral capacity.
In line with its goal of increasing domestic production capacity for rail transportation systems, KARDEMİR began railway rail production in 2007 with the commissioning of its Rail and Profile Rolling Mill. In 2018, through its Railway Wheel Production Facility established under the Strategic Investment Incentive Program, the company became Türkiye’s first and only domestic manufacturer in this field.
These investments are reported to have contributed not only to meeting domestic market demand but also to reducing external dependency through the production of high value-added products.
Türkiye Rail Systems Business Forum 2026 is expected to foster new collaborations among industry stakeholders and contribute to increasing the localization rate in rail systems.
The statement also emphasized that KARDEMİR will continue its activities in the rail systems sector with its production capabilities and R&D infrastructure.
