JSW Steel USA Ohio has inked a pivotal agreement with Primetals Technologies to modernize its slab casting infrastructure located at the Mingo Junction plant in Ohio. This alliance is geared towards empowering JSW Steel USA to broaden its array of steel slab offerings and enhance its product line. The anticipated completion of the project is slated for the latter part of 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, Primetals Technologies will deliver a state-of-the-art 230-ton vacuum tank degasser (VTD) equipped with a dry mechanical vacuum pump system. This innovative setup is poised to revolutionize JSW Steel USA's steel production capabilities, facilitating the manufacture of environmentally sustainable steel while mitigating emissions of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and sulfur throughout the production process.
