According to JSW Steel, the project is a key part of the company's long term strategy to expand its production capacity in the state and support regional industrial development.

First phase to establish a 1 million ton steel plant

The project will be developed by JSW Rayalaseema Steel Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Steel.

The first phase will involve an investment of INR 45.00 billion to build an integrated steel plant with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons. The facility will manufacture low carbon steel products.

During the second phase, the company will invest up to INR 118.50 billion to expand the plant's annual production capacity to 2 million tons. This will bring the project's total investment to INR 163.50 billion.

Infrastructure investments to strengthen logistics

The Rayalaseema facility will benefit from planned investments in road, rail, electricity and water infrastructure. The company stated that these infrastructure projects will support logistics operations while contributing to the region's long term industrial development.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by N. Chandrababu Naidu, senior state officials, public representatives, local stakeholders and JSW Group executives, including Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan Jindal.
