Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) stated that due to the recovery in demand and upcoming infrastructure projects, Indian domestic steel demand will recover in the second half of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. This will also lead to a decrease in the exports of Indian steelmakers.
India is gradually reaching the 300 million tons/year crude steel production of the 2017 national steel policy.
JSPL aimed to achieve a green energy transition and planned to implement net zero carbon emissions for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2070. In 20 to 30 years, it will generate green energy for steel production and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
