The company is building a pelletizing plant in Sohar with an annual production capacity of 6 million mt, which is planned to start operations by 2024. JSIS (Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel), a subsidiary of Jindal Group, is investing in a carbon capture plant expected to be completed by December 2023. With the new projects to be made in Sohar, Jindal Group's investments in the region are thought to be $1.5 billion.
Jindal Group plans to invest $3 billion in a green steel project in Oman called Vulcan Green Steel, which will use fully renewable energy and green hydrogen.
