Italian speciality steelmaker Acciaierie Bertoli Safau (ABS) will restart electric arc furnace (EAF) production at its steel mill in Sisak in central Croatia in November, according to the company's CEO Alessandro Trivillin.
In the first phase, the company will employ only 100 workers at the Croatian plant, compared to 1,000 in the past, due to its strategy to move away from welded pipe and seamless pipe production and focus on the plant's core business of speciality steel production.
