It is planned to build 'satellite cities' in Istanbul

Minister Kurum stated that 695,000 residences have been transformed in Istanbul and said, “We have renewed the residences with earthquake risk. Currently, the transformation of 93 thousand residences in 39 districts of Istanbul continues. We have to demonstrate this will by strengthening it even more. There are 1.5 million residences in Istanbul that need urgent and priority transformation. 20 percent is very urgent."

"Satellite cities will be established on both sides"

Minister Kurum said that they will transform 500 thousand of the 1.5 million risky residences in Istanbul where they are, and continued as follows: “We are planning satellite cities on the Anatolian and European Sides for our remaining 500 thousand residences. We will lay the foundation of 10 thousand houses on the 22nd of this month with the presence of our President. We cannot leave Istanbul to its fate. We cannot leave it to unqualified people. We do not have an agenda such as making a zoning peace. We need to rebuild Istanbul together. Hopefully, we will win our victory on May 14th. We will focus on the welfare of our nation.
