In a statement released by the Khuzestan Steel Company, the company announced that an Israeli drone attacked the company's facilities in Iranian territory.
The statement reported that the attack was successfully and timely thwarted by Iranian air defense systems and therefore no damage was caused to the production, support and administrative units. However, it was noted that the downed drone damaged a pedestrian in the vicinity and the injured person was quickly transferred to health institutions.
The ongoing Iran-Israel conflicts in the region have intensified since June 16. Iran launched missile attacks on major Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa. At least eight civilians were killed and about 100 people were injured in the attacks. The Iranian government announced that it carried out these attacks in response to Israeli operations against its nuclear facilities and military targets. Iran also announced that it is considering the possibility of withdrawing from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
