The iron and steel sector in Germany has been affected by the ongoing economic problems in the country, which not only affected German steel prices but also caused fluctuations in iron ore prices.
Having been on a downward trend since the beginning of the year and fluctuating from time to time, iron ore prices started March at €105 and continued their downward trend.
During March, iron ore prices hit a high of €107.77 in the first week of the month and a low of €100.68 in the week of March 15 after fluctuations. On the other hand, iron ore started the week of March 18 with a slight increase at €101.67, but dropped back to €100.85 after reaching €102.
According to SteelRadar data, iron ore prices in Germany were traded at €102.39 on March 21.
