The Tehran Times reported that Iranian steelmakers produced a total of 11.4 million tons of crude steel in the first five months of 2022, down 10.8% from the same period in 2021.
Production volume in Iran in May reached 2.3 million tons, 17.6% less than last year.
In terms of world ranking, Iran continues to maintain its global position as the world's 10th largest crude steel producer.
