A senior member of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) stressed that the country's steel production capacity is growing rapidly and currently stands at 45 million tonnes per year.
Bahador Ehramian stated that this growth shows the remarkable increase in Iran's steel industry. He said that the capacity has increased more than six times in the last 20 years and predicted that Iran's steel production capacity will increase by more than 22% in the next two years.
Ehramian also said that most of Iran's current steel production is exported to foreign markets and domestic demand remains relatively stable, adding that Iran aims to expand its role in the international steel trade.
