According to the recorded data, international crude steel production decreased by 3.3% in January 2023 compared to 2022.
Among the countries, Africa produced 107.5 million tons of crude steel, down -4.9% to 1.2 million tons, Asia and Oceania to -0.2%. Looking at the Middle East production, Egypt ranked first among Arab countries with 800 thousand tons of crude steel production in January 2023, down -2.0%. The second and third places are; - Saudi Arabia, which produced 710 thousand tons with a decrease of 5.2%, and the United Arab Emirates with a production of 278 thousand tons with an increase of 37.6%.
