The 6% annual increase in industrial production marked the highest growth rate in the last 8 months. The index last recorded a 7.1% increase in August 2025.
When examining subsectors of industry, in April the mining and quarrying index decreased by 2.8% year-on-year, while the manufacturing industry index increased by 6.8% and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply index rose by 1.8%.
The unadjusted industrial production index also recorded a 9.7% annual increase.
On a monthly basis, seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production rose by 3.7%, with mining and quarrying increasing by 0.8% and manufacturing rising by 4.4%. In the same period, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply declined by 2.8%.
TÜİK also announced that revisions were made to data for some previous months.
