Industrial production increased in March

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the industrial production data for March. According to the data, when the sub-sectors of industry (with reference year 2021 = 100) are analyzed, in March 2024, the index of mining and quarrying sector increased by 7.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, the index of manufacturing industry sector increased by 4 percent and the index of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector increased by 5.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased by 0.3 percent. Analyzing the sub-sectors of industry, in March 2024, the index of mining and quarrying sector increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month, the index of manufacturing industry sector decreased by 0.3 percent and the index of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector decreased by 1.5 percent.
