India's NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) broke multiple production records in a single day on April 26, 2025.
Breaking its own limits for the third time in April alone, NSL achieved the highest base mix production of 23,307 tons in the raw material handling system. On the same day, 11,034 tons of hot metal was produced in the blast furnace.
The steel melting shop produced 9,342 tons of liquid steel in 52 castings. These figures showed that the company reached maximum capacity across the entire production chain in a single day. NSL Chairman Amitava Mukherjee emphasized that this historic achievement supports India's steel production target of 300 million tons.
NSL achieved 12,886 tons of production at the sinter plant, 8,850 tons at the thin alab caster and 8,673 tons at the hot strip mill on the same day, ensuring a high level of coordination between production units.
NSL Executive Director M.N.V.S Prabhakar stated that these achievements are a testament to the world-class infrastructure of the plant and the dedication of the employees.
