The new facility will support RPCL’s goals of stable production and sustainable development by efficiently utilizing resources obtained from its mines. Through SMS group’s integrated digital solution package, RPCL aims to achieve reduced human intervention, increased production stability, and improved energy efficiency.
Under the agreement, SMS group will provide basic engineering, manufacturing, and supply of all core plant equipment. The project scope also includes a comprehensive spare parts package and an integrated digital solution package. The total delivery time for the plant has been announced as 15 months.
Matthias Gabriel, Cluster Coordinator at SMS group, highlighted the significance of the project, stating:
“This latest project in India demonstrates that SMS group is fully prepared to meet the evolving needs of the iron and steel industries. Our compact pellet plant concept combines innovation, sustainability, and digital intelligence. This approach aligns perfectly with the goals of our customers in developing regions.”
Gabriel also emphasized that SMS group’s ability to adapt to various site conditions, ore qualities, energy profiles, and regulatory requirements further strengthens its leading position in metallurgical solutions.
Through this project, RPCL aims to establish a long-term resource base in mining regions, promote sustainable development, and contribute to regional economic growth. SMS group’s integrated digital solution package will enable more stable operations with reduced human intervention while enhancing energy efficiency in production processes.
