Indian mining company Vedanta Group has decided to sell Electrosteel Steels Limited (ESL). The group stated that it intends to focus mainly on its core mining and industrial businesses.
Vedanta entered the Indian steel industry by acquiring ESL in 2018. The company announced this year that it has decided to leave the steel business.
Vedanta was said to be in talks with steel companies such as Tata Steel, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), JSW, Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) and some financial investors.
