Indian steel producers decreased steel (rolled products and semi-finished products) exports by %43 to 10,45 million tons in 2022, compared with 2021. This indicator decreased by %40 to 0,66 million tons in December 2022.
Steel sector of the country influenced by the export taxes imposed on final steel products in the last May. Its cancellation in November 2022 made it possible to increase the volume of exports next month.
Global demand decrease led to decrease of indicators. Especially, Indian steel producers' supply of steel to EU decreased by %42 to 2,54 million tons in 2022, compared with 2021. At the same time, Vietnam, which is among the biggest three importers from India in 2021, decreased its Indian steel purchases by %28 to 1,16 million tons in 2022.
