India and Russia held the India–Russia Roundtable Meeting at the Ministry of Steel on Thursday to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the steel sector. The meeting was organized to develop industrial cooperation between the two countries and review existing partnerships.

The discussions were co-chaired by senior officials from the Government of India and Mikhail Yuriev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and were attended by industry and sector representatives from both countries.

The meeting addressed key areas of the steel industry, including raw material supply, technological cooperation, equipment manufacturing, and research opportunities. Participants also discussed strengthening supply chains, improving coordination in production processes, and the role of innovation and technology sharing in sectoral growth.

The parties reviewed existing areas of cooperation and discussed opportunities to expand joint work across the steel value chain. It was noted that the discussions provided a constructive environment for engagement between industry stakeholders and contributed to a better understanding of the industrial priorities of both countries.

Officials emphasized the importance of regular and continuous dialogue in overcoming challenges facing the sector, stating that such engagements would open the door to new cooperation opportunities.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere reflecting the long-standing industrial relations between India and Russia, with both sides reiterating their commitment to further deepen cooperation in the steel sector.
