Increase in scrap prices in Türkiye

The price of imported scrap in Türkiye increased by $3 per day and reached to $363 per ton CFR.
Transactions for American scrap were completed at $363 per ton CFR. Crushed scrap was also purchased at $383. Turkish steelmakers have been trying to raise the price of imported scrap to $357-358, apparently without success. They need to buy scrap but prices have risen as there are not many offers.
According to the reports, since the market reached its lowest level last week at $360 per tonne CFR, the euro exchange rate has strengthened and the Chinese market also looks strong, while Turkish mills also need scrap.
