In the first half of 2023, Turkiye's imports of long products increased by 38% while exports decreased by 45%!

According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute ( TUIK), Turkiye's imports of long products in the first half of 2023 increased by 38% y-o-y from 769 thousand tonnes to 1 million 63 thousand tonnes. In the first half of 2023, Turkiye's imports of long products increased by 38% while exports decreased by 45%!

According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute ( TUIK), Turkiye's imports of long products in the first half of 2023 increased by 38% y-o-y from 769 thousand tonnes to 1 million 63 thousand tonnes. Exports decreased by a record 45% to 2,892,000 tonnes from 5,290,000 tonnes in the same period.

In the first month of the year, Turkiye's imports of long products increased by 14% y-o-y to 154 thousand tonnes, while exports decreased by 31% to 531 thousand tonnes.

In February, Turkiye's imports of long products decreased by 15% y-o-y to 132 thousand tonnes, while exports decreased by a record 51% y-o-y to 439 thousand tonnes from 891 thousand tonnes.

In March, Turkiye's imports and exports of long products increased by 53% and 13%, respectively, compared to the previous months.

Turkiye's imports of long products increased by 50% in March compared to the same month of the previous year to 201 thousand tonnes.

On the other hand, Turkiye's exports of long products decreased by a record 60% to 495 thousand tonnes from 1 million 170 thousand tonnes.

Turkiye's imports and exports of long products decreased by 11 per cent and 23 per cent, respectively, in April compared to the previous month.

In April, Turkiye's imports of long products increased by 34% y-o-y to 179 thousand tonnes, while exports decreased by 55% y-o-y to 382 thousand tonnes.

In May, Turkiye's imports and exports of long products increased by 33 per cent and 24 per cent, respectively, compared to the previous month.

Thus, Turkiye's imports of long products increased by 90% y-o-y from 126 thousand tonnes to 239 thousand tonnes in May. On the other hand, exports decreased from 731 thousand tonnes to 474 thousand tonnes.

In June, Turkiye's imports of long products decreased by 33 per cent compared to the previous month, while exports increased by 20 per cent.

Turkiye's long imports increased by 37% to 159 thousand tonnes in June compared to the same month of the previous year, while exports decreased by 35% to 571 thousand tonnes in the same period.
