Azerbaijan increased imports of ferrous metal products in the first four months of 2024, the State Customs Committee reported. During this period, the country imported 344,358.19 tonnes of ferrous metal, up 23.7% yoy. In value terms, imports increased by 25.5 % to more than USD 387 million.
The share of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products imports in Azerbaijan's total import expenditures was 7.09%, while this rate was 5.83% in January-April 2023.
Exports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products from Azerbaijan decreased in the first four months of 2024. Exports amounted to 25,207.51 tonnes, 25.2% less than last year. In value terms, exports decreased by 24.8 % to 24,688,980 US dollars. Ferrous metal exports accounted for 0.3% of the total, compared with 0.26% in January-April 2023.
