Electricity prices due to natural gas caused alarm in the European steel industry.
Media headlines are that natural gas prices in the UK have more than quadrupled last year, rising from around 40p per thermal to 180p per thermal this time around last year. This is largely due to the impact on small, startup gas suppliers that have been forced out of business in recent weeks.
However, natural gas - and energy prices in general - are rising strongly. That's the way things are going, not just in the UK, but for most of this year, across Europe.
