Foreign investors bought US$ 207.1 million worth of stocks in the week on August 20, based on market price and currency-adjusted data. Foreign interest of $207 million was recorded in the stock market as the highest amount of foreign stock purchase since the week of January 8th. Thus, the stock of foreign investors increased to 22 billion 772 million dollars on 20 August.
Foreigners were also in the position of buyers in the bond market. According to the Central Bank data, last week, GDBS (Outstanding Purchases) purchases were 211.2 million dollars, while GDBS (Reverse Repo) purchases were 0.2 million dollars. In the week that non-residents did not purchase GDDS (Guarantee) and GDDS (Borrowing), the company's debt securities purchases amounted to 1.2 million dollars.
With these data, GDDS stock of non-residents increased from 6 billion 616.3 million dollars to 6 billion 812.5 million dollars, and SIS stocks from 226.4 million dollars to 229.2 million dollars.
