Hi-Tech Pipes Limited, one of India’s leading steel pipe manufacturers, stated that it has commenced commercial production at its new facility in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir.

Hi-Tech Pipes starts commercial production at new Kathua facility in Jammu and Kashmir

The plant, with an annual installed capacity of 80,000 tons, is equipped with modern infrastructure and advanced automation systems to produce ERW steel pipes as well as coated and other value-added steel products.

With the commissioning of the new facility, Hi-Tech Pipes further strengthens its position as one of India’s fastest-growing steel pipe producers, approaching a total installed capacity of 1 million tons. The company emphasized that advanced quality control processes will help meet rising customer demand and the sector’s increasing standards.

Located at a strategic point in Jammu, the Kathua facility will offer more efficient, faster, and cost-effective supply options to customers in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. The plant is positioned to meet growing demand across multiple end-use sectors, including infrastructure, construction, water distribution, manufacturing, industrial projects, and engineering applications.

This move also aligns with the company’s strategy to increase the share of value-added products (VAP) in its portfolio. By focusing on coated and specialized steel products, Hi-Tech Pipes anticipates higher revenue, an improved product mix, and stronger EBITDA per ton in the medium to long term.

The new capacity is expected to contribute meaningfully to the company’s financials from mid-Q4 of fiscal year 2026, supporting both volume growth and profitability. The investment in Jammu is considered a key step in Hi-Tech Pipes’ vision to create a scalable, future-ready production platform while maintaining high quality, operational excellence, and sustainability principles.
