The ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer, AK Party MP Halil Eldemir, Chamber of Commerce President Mehmet Ergün, business representatives, NGO officials, and Hasçelik Chairman Adnan Naci Faydasıçok. Minister Kacır officially inaugurated the plant with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
During his speech, Minister Kacır stated that “the facility established by Hasçelik in Osmaneli marks a major step in the production of high-quality steel, which holds strategic importance for Türkiye. It will provide employment for hundreds of citizens and operate with advanced technology and clean energy. We will continue to strongly support investments in Bilecik.”
Hasçelik CEO Adnan Naci Faydasıçok emphasized that the new steel mill represents a historic milestone not only for the company but also for the Turkish steel industry. “This facility will pioneer green steel production in Türkiye by using 100 percent scrap metal. It will contribute to the circular economy and accelerate the sector’s sustainability vision,” he said.
The new plant is the first in Türkiye to integrate scrap preheating technology with an electromagnetic stirring system under the electric arc furnace (EAF). Featuring digital automation and control systems, low-emission technologies, and heat recovery systems, it offers an environmentally friendly and safe production environment.
Following the ceremony, Minister Kacır and accompanying officials toured Hasçelik’s modern production lines and received a detailed briefing from CEO Faydasıçok. The new investment stands out as a significant step that will both contribute to Osmaneli’s economic growth and support Türkiye’s green transition in the steel sector.
