Hasan Akça: İZTO’s future will be shaped by members’ choices

Hasan Akça, Chairman of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO) 63rd Iron and Steel, Aluminum Producers and Foundrymen Committee, called on chamber members to vote and participate in the election process ahead of the İZTO elections to be held on October 1, 2026.

Hasan Akça: İZTO’s future will be shaped by members’ choices

In his statement, Hasan Akça said that the İzmir Chamber of Commerce plays an important role in regulating commercial and industrial activities in the city, supporting the professional development of its members, and contributing to the advancement of İzmir’s economy.

Akça stated that the chamber is built on its members and member companies, emphasizing that the demands, views and suggestions conveyed by members are effective in determining İZTO’s activities.

“Participation is of great importance”

Reminding that chambers of commerce consist of professional committees, the assembly and chamber management, Akça noted that these bodies are determined by members through a democratic and competitive election process.

Stating that elections are an important part of the competition to provide better services, Akça said that members’ participation in the elections and voting would serve as a driving force for the work of the committees that will take office.

Akça made the following assessment in his statement:

“We believe that the higher the voter turnout, the closer we will get to doing what is right and providing better services. Participation in the elections is of great importance in ensuring that the demands, views and suggestions of our members are reflected in the chamber’s activities.”

Emphasis on representation of the iron and steel industry

Akça stated that, as the 63rd Iron and Steel, Aluminum Producers and Foundrymen Committee, they are working to ensure stronger and more effective representation of the sector in the İZTO elections, and pointed to the importance of a representative structure that understands the sector’s problems and develops solutions.

Akça invited all chamber members to participate in the elections to be held at Fuar İzmir on Thursday, October 1, 2026, and cast their votes.
