The event began with the opening speech of PASSAD Chairman Haluk Kayabaşı. Kayabaşı emphasized the importance of the stainless steel sector’s adaptation capacity in the face of increasing environmental regulations and trade policies.
As part of the program, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çimenoğlu, Faculty Member at ITU and Chairman of the PASSAD Education and R&D Commission, delivered his presentation titled “The place of stainless steel in the steel world.” Çimenoğlu provided evaluations regarding the role of stainless steel in high value added production and its position within the industrial value chain.
In Session 1, the first panel of the meeting, the topic “Stainless steel in the green transformation process: CBAM, sustainability and public policies” was discussed. The session was moderated by Dr. Erol Metin, Advisor to the PASSAD Board of Directors.
