The World Stainless Steel Association (worldstainless) has published stainless steel production data for 2025.
Accordingly, total stainless steel production at smelting facilities worldwide increased by 2.1% compared to 2024, reaching 64.2 million tons.
The regional distribution of production was as follows: Asia produced 55.3 million tons of stainless steel, an increase of 2.7% compared to 2024. The European Union recorded a 1.9% decline with a production of 5.7 million tons. Production in the United States amounted to 2.1 million tons, showing a 7.6% increase compared to the previous year. Production in other countries was recorded at 1.1 million tons, experiencing an 11.3% decline.
