Global crude steel production fell 10.6 percent in October

Since crude steel is an industrial raw material, it is also considered an indicator of growth and development.

Global crude steel production fell 10.6 percent in October

World Steel Association (Worldsteel), headquartered in Brussels, announced October crude steel production data.

Accordingly, global crude steel production decreased by 10.6 percent to 145.7 million tons in October compared to the same period of 2020. Compared to the same period of the previous year, crude steel production decreased by 10.6 percent.

CHINA'S RAW STEEL PRODUCTION DECREASED 23.3 PERCENT

In the said period, China's production decreased by 23.3 percent to 71.6 million tons. The production of China, the world's largest steel producer, decreased by 21.2 percent in September.

Japan's production increased by 14.3 percent to 8.2 million tons, the USA's production increased by 20.5 percent to 7.5 million tons and Germany's production increased by 7 percent to 3.7 million tons, while South Korea's production increased by 7%. It was estimated to decrease by 1 to 5.8 million tons.

Turkey's crude steel production, on the other hand, increased by 8 percent to 3.5 million tons in October compared to the same period of the previous year.

It is estimated that steel production in Brazil, which increased by 10.4 percent to 3.2 million tons in the said period, decreased by 15.3 percent to 2.2 million tons in Iran.

On the other hand, in the January-October period of this year, global crude steel production increased by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of 2020, reaching 1 billion 607 million tons.
