Ford Motor Company of the USA announced that it will reorganize its operations in India. Ford decided to cease production in India in the fourth quarter of this year due to the shortage of semiconductors in the global market.
Ford said it will continue to provide parts, service and warranty for Indian customers in the process.
In addition, Ford India will introduce its electric sports SUVs to the market. The company stated that this restructuring is expected to create a sustainable and profitable business in India after accumulated operating losses exceeding US$2 billion over the past 10 years.
