With a ceremony on May 12, the ceramic mass of the new coke battery No. 1 was fired, marking the final stage of the production process. This 4th battery installed at the JSW KOKS SA (JSW Capital Group) plant is one of the most advanced coke production systems in continental Europe.
It is stated that the annual production capacity of the new battery will be approximately 610 thousand tons of coke, which will provide a significant increase in the plant's production capacity. Thanks to the innovative technological solutions used in the project, high efficiency and environmentally friendly production becomes possible with lower raw material consumption.
The technological innovations include a completely redesigned ceramic mass, systems that increase energy efficiency in the coking process, environmentally friendly systems for the removal of coke gases, and infrastructure that complies with BAT (Best Available Techniques) standards. In addition, the giant charging machine weighing approximately 1,200 tons and the stamped hopper filling technology integrated into the dry coke cooling system add uniqueness to the project.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Polish Parliament, officials from the Silesian Voivodeship, the Mayor of Dąbrowa Górnicza, local authorities, investors and executives from JSW SA and JSW KOKS.
The new plant is expected to redefine technological, environmental and efficiency standards in coke production across Europe.
