In Germany, the steel plate market dropped by EUR 7 to trade at EUR 803 in the week to March 18, but was down by a further EUR 10 to EUR 793 in the week to April 8, according to SteelRadar data. Sources pointed out that trade remained limited in the region, while the situation was similar in Poland. In Poland, the steel plate market, which was last traded down by EUR 20 to EUR 725 in the first week of April, was down by EUR 10 to EUR 715 as of April 8.
Another product that experienced a decrease in Poland was wire rod. Wire rod prices, which traded at EUR 668, down by EUR 3 at the beginning of April, maintained their level and continued to be traded at the same price on April 8.
In Italy, the downturn in the steel market also continued this week
According to SteelRadar data, Italy's galvanized steel coil market, which was last down by EUR 35 on April 1, continued to hover at EUR 866 as of April 8.
Wire rod and angle products also continued to experience decreases this week, with data showing that Italy's wire rod market traded at EUR 630 on March 25, down by EUR 30, and was trading at EUR 628 as of April 8, down by a further EUR2. Meanwhile, Italian angle prices, which had been trading at EUR 735 for a long time, dropped by EUR 10 to EUR 725 on April 8.
