Italy's rebar prices have experienced a significant acceleration
In Southern Europe, local producers' efforts to raise rebar prices have been successful, sources confirmed. Rebar [12-32 mm] prices in Italy were steady at EUR 570 throughout April, but gained momentum by EUR 20 on April 29th to reach EUR590, sources reported.
According to sources, producers had indicated in recent weeks that rebar prices in Italy were preparing for increases in late April and early May. According to SteelRadar data, the Spanish rebar market remained steady, traded at EUR 583, down by EUR 22 in the past week.
Prices of rebar in Poland have started to decrease!
According to SteelRadar data, Polish rebar prices, which were last down by EUR 3, remained stable for a while, trading at EUR 625/EXW. On April 29th, however, the Polish rebar market was down by EUR 10 to EUR 615/EXW.
The decrease was attributed to weak demand in the construction sector, while strong competition from imports also affected prices, sources said. According to SteelRadar data, rebar prices in Germany continued to trade at the same price in the 29th April week after falling by EUR 13 last week.
Moreover, it was also reported that some North European producers wanted to raise prices but buyers refused to accept higher prices.
