EU imports of HRC from Japan and South Korea on the rise

It is considered that Europe's increase in hot rolled coil imports from Japan and South Korea, especially after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, will draw the attention of European authorities and that these imports will be subject to scrutiny in the future. While it is estimated by Eurofer officials that Europe's HRC imports from Japan will exceed 1 million tons in 2022, this figure is a big increase when compared to last year's data. Turkey, Europe's largest HRC supplier, is expected to be followed by Japan in second place. It is thought that anti-dumping measures can be taken on imports from Japan and Korea, if the authorities investigate.
