According to the statement by the company, Turkey's first integrated flat steel producer Erdemir, which has contributed to the Turkish industry with the high quality domestic steel it has produced since 1965, continues its investments that will increase its energy efficiency, production capacity and performance.
In this context, it is aimed that the 4th coke battery with an annual capacity of 800 thousand tons, which will replace the first and second batteries of Erdemir, which has been in service continuously since its establishment, will be commissioned in the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
Considering the best available techniques (EU Best Available Techniques-BAT) and environmental impacts while planning its investments with a responsible production and sustainability approach, Erdemir's fourth coke battery will have many high-tech features such as dust collection filter systems and high level automation.
The new battery will increase the company's environmental performance, while reducing imported coke intake. Erdemir will launch new investments for efficiency in the 2023-2024 period as well.
